JCube to close its doors to make way for J’Den, a 40-storey mixed development

JCube in Jurong East Central, will be closing down on August 6th to make space for a new 40-storey development with commercial space on both the first floor and second. The project name is called J’Den.

CapitaLand Development, which announced the completion date of the J’Den mixed-residential building in 2027, said that it will contribute to the Government’s plan to bring new homes, businesses and recreational facilities to the Jurong Lake District.

The mall will be closed on August 6 at 10:00pm. CapitaLand stated that they are working closely with their tenants and provide them the support necessary to ensure an easy handover.

J-Walk is a pedestrian network which connects J’Den to Westgate, IMM Building and Jurong East MRT Station via a covered walkway.

Jurong East interchange serves both the East-West and North-South routes and will connect with the Jurong Region Line that will be open in phases beginning 2027.

The development plan will also be connected to the future Jurong East Integrated Transportation Hub, that will include an air-conditioned interchange bus station, a public librarian, a community centre and a sport centre, as well as other commercial areas.

Jurong Lake District will be Singapore’s most important business district.

Between 2040 and 2030, it is planned to create about 100,000 new jobs as well as 20,000 new housing units. These will add to the 1 million residents who already live in Singapore’s western region.
